Manual forex backtesting with market replay — Forex Backtest Replay
A strategy that only works on paper eats your first real account. This app brings the past market back so you can test your strategy from every angle, on any symbol you like, before risking a real dollar: you move the market forward on real ticks, take positions wherever you want, drag your stop and target on the chart, and the app settles everything with the same spread and commission your own broker charges your account. The future stays hidden — you cannot see the next candle, and you cannot fool yourself. At the end you have a full journal with automatic screenshots and an analytics page that, through dozens of filters, tells you where you make money and where you give it back.
Each one is a job it does for you, every day.
Jump to any past date and time and play the market at the speed you want, or step candle by candle with the space bar. The data is real ticks, not synthetic candles: spread, wicks, gaps and the rush of a news release are exactly what they were that day. The forming candle is built in front of you, just like a live market.
Before a session starts you set the opening balance, account currency, leverage, spread (fixed or floating), commission per lot and slippage — the same numbers your broker charges you. The result of the backtest is then what you would really have kept, not a paper profit with no costs.
Currency pairs, gold and silver, and indices such as the Dow, Nasdaq and S&P. Data is downloaded once from the Data Center and stays on your computer; you need neither a MetaTrader terminal nor a broker account.
Up to four charts of one symbol on different timeframes — H1 for direction and M5 for entries, say — all moving on a single clock: one step on M5 means five candles on M1 and a growing H1 candle. Each chart keeps its own timeframe and zoom, and goes full screen with one click.
Market, limit and stop orders; stop-loss and take-profit you drag on the chart; partial close, auto break-even and trailing stop; and live balance, equity, floating P/L and margin under the chart. Fills come from the ticks themselves: buys at the ask, sells at the bid, and stops and targets on the very tick that crosses them.
Pick up the position tool and click on the chart: entry, stop and target are set by dragging and show pips, R:R, risk in money and lot size as you move them. The order type is detected automatically from the distance to the current price. The R&R tool is exactly the indicator we built for MetaTrader: entry, stop, and TP1 to TPn at 1R to nR.
Made a mistake, or want to play the same setup differently? Go back to any earlier point; the trades you took after it are removed and the account returns to exactly that state. (Deliberately disabled in a prop-firm session — there you go forward like real life.)
The Strategy & Checklist page is yours: build your strategies with a name and a description, and write an entry checklist for each — the conditions that must be ticked before you take a trade. On every trade you pick the strategy and tick the boxes. Nothing is pre-filled; you set the rules, and afterwards you see which of them actually made money.
The app captures the chart by itself when an order is placed, when the position opens and when it closes. On each trade's page you write notes, add tags, give it a rating and record which strategy and which checklist you entered on. Three months later you don't have to rely on memory.
The journal is sifted through stacked filters: which session, winner or loser, buy or sell, which tag, which strategy, which checklist — even which checklist item was ticked or not — and at what rating. The CSV export hands you exactly what you filtered, clean and structured: for Excel, or to hand to an AI and let it analyse your trading.
All the trades of a session — or anything you filtered — become one PDF: a summary page, and one page per trade with the entry and exit screenshots beside your own notes. Print it, archive it for yourself, or send it to your coach. A whole session can also be exported as a single file and opened on another computer.
P&L curve, win rate, profit factor, expectancy, real R:R against ideal R:R, performance by buy and sell, by session, by hour of entry and by weekday, a monthly table and a performance calendar, drawdown on equity with time to recovery, and the MAE of every trade. The stop-loss simulator answers "what if my stop had been tighter" with numbers, and Monte Carlo shows how much of the result could have been luck.
Start a session under prop rules: profit target, max daily loss, max total loss and minimum trading days. The rules run on equity with a UTC daily reset, a rules strip above the chart shows the state live, and pass or fail is called the moment it happens.
14 chart overlays and 17 oscillators, trendlines, horizontal and vertical lines, rectangles, Fibonacci, a ruler and the R&R tool. The chart appearance comes with presets and you can save your own scheme under a name; the whole app switches between dark and light with one click.
The first download of a symbol's data takes a few minutes; after that it stays on your computer and later sessions open instantly.
Internet is needed to download data and activate the licence; the replay itself works offline.
The app is installed with a Setup and checks for updates by itself.
One licence is active on one computer at a time and can be moved to another from inside the app.
