Trade journal for MetaTrader 4 & 5 — Magic Trade Journal
Most traders never keep a journal, because writing trades down after a full trading day is tedious. Magic Trade Journal takes that off your hands: it connects straight to your own MetaTrader terminal, picks the trades up by itself and pulls the statistics out of them. The only thing left for you to do is look at the results.
Each one is a job it does for you, every day.
Just have MetaTrader open. The app finds it, attaches to it, and from that moment every trade you open is recorded automatically: entry, exit, volume, price, stop loss, take profit and net profit. No forms, nothing slips through, no end-of-day copying from the history tab.
At the entry and at the exit, your chart is captured automatically. Three months later, when you want to know why you took that trade, you don't rely on memory — the chart itself, with the same lines and the same setup, is in front of you.
The filters are built so you can ask anything: open or closed, winners or losers, which strategy, which session, which weekday, closed by TP or SL or by hand, which date range, which symbol. "How do I trade London on Wednesdays?" is one click.
Create as many journals as you like, each saved under its own name: one for gold, one for EURUSD, one for the prop account, one for testing a new strategy. The numbers never mix — every journal has its own win rate and its own P/L.
A trade the app never saw can be entered by hand, with full details and even screenshots. Missed trades should never distort a journal's statistics.
A mis-click recorded a trade you didn't want? Select it and delete it. Landed in the wrong journal? No need to delete — move it, screenshots and notes and all, to the right one.
Export any journal as a single file: the database itself, every trade and every screenshot included. If your mentor uses the same app, just send the file — they open the very journal you see, with every mistake plainly visible, and coach you from it.
The analytics screen shows your pattern, not raw rows: where you build profit and where you give it back, at which hours, with which setups.
The PDF export makes one page per trade: entry and exit screenshots side by side, with your own notes. For archiving your work, showing a mentor, or sending to a prop firm.
Don't underestimate this one. The CSV export produces your whole history, clean and structured. Hand it to ChatGPT or Claude and ask for the patterns — you will get reads on your own trading that no amount of manual filtering would find.
